Lifetime Achievement Award
The Richard W. Slagle Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the quality of life in our communities. Those receiving this award have displayed character, integrity, drive and dedication to the communities of Middletown, Monroe and Trenton through their involvement with The Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Slagle served as President of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce from 1959 to 1969. He joined Armco Steel* in 1969 and held the position of Vice President of Administrative Services upon his retirement in 1985. Since his retirement, Mr. Slagle has continued to be an active leader in the Middletown area. He served as Interim President of The Chamber of Commerce four different times during his retirement, and has served on numerous committees in support of our communities, including: MADE Industrial Park, Miami University’s Middletown Campus, Weatherwax and Shaker Run Golf Courses, and the Butler County Port Authority.
The Richard W. Slagle Lifetime Achievement Award is a testament to the service and vision that Mr. Slagle faithfully gave to his community. It is an inspiration to all those who will follow in his footsteps and blaze new trails.
